Premature AWD bevel gear seal replacement V70-XC70 2000

Yet another AWD issue...

I went to my dealer for inspection of gear oil smell for the 2nd time and they confirmed to me the bevel gear seal needs replacement. Car has 29,000KMs. Now that rises a concern thinking if Volvo's AWD system is as reliable as most people suggest. I have religiously rotated my Contis and Gislaveds (winter time) at suggested manufacturer intervals and worth mentioning is that I've never had blowouts or flats yet, so all tires are original and have identical tread wear all around. Has anyone had such premature wear with their AWD? Can any tech inclined people here can explain me why this happens on a well maintained car? Maybe I've got a bad batch production, but it's hard to swallow when you think this is a 50K$CDN car. And this isn't the first warranty issue either... Nothing but bad luck with the XC so far. Transmission and front axle being the main reasons for not keeping the car for the next 15 years like I wanted to.. Will I get the updated XC? not sure.. It's going to be hard convincing me from now on.
