Based on some recent discussion here on brickboard, I went ahead and purchased the power antenna switch for the 98 S80 (?), the black colored one that matches the fit and finish of my 95 850 dash. This was instead of buying the harness kit that comes with a light gray switch. With the help of a couple of EE friends we determined where to add wires to this switch that will splice into the antenna wire in the back of the radio in order to make the antenna stay down in CD/tape mode. So far so good, but here is my question: will the switch illuminate with the other dash switches? Or do I have to run wires from the switch to someplace else? Or, should I have bought the harness kit AND this switch? I did not think so, as I know from this board that at least one person has spliced into the antenna wire, and if they did that they did not buy the harness kit. Advice anyone on the switch illumination issue? Thanks!
