transmission trouble 850

Hi All:

I got stuck in a neighbors driveway in the snow and slush. I was rocking the car back and forth at high rpm when the flashing light came on. I got the car off the driveway and the light went off after a bit, but going home, the car now slips out of gear. Is it possible this is the PNP switch or the winter mode switch gone bad, or is more likely the transmission is now toast? Can these transmissions be rebuilt?
