Hello All,
I have a 1996 850GLT wagon and I noticed that moisture has collected and dried on the inside portion of the glass lens of the headlight located on the drive's side. This was a used headlight I installed about 8 years ago. I do not see any cracks in the glass lens. If I recall correctly the glass lens sits on top of a rubber gasket that runs the length of the opening of the headlight. I think the moisture is getting in because the gasket is cracked or dried out. I don't want to replace the headlight assembly, so my questions are:
1) Has anyone tried to re-seal the gasket by applying a silicone sealer to the gasket? OR
2) Can you purchase a new rubber gasket and install it by removing the old one.
I know from prior experience you can move the metal clips that secure the glass lens and take it right off the headlight housing.
Thanks to all who reply.
