fluid in air box S70 98

I took the top off my air filter box and noticed a small amount of fluid on the top of my filter. I traced the fluid and found that it was coming from a 1-1 1/2 inch hose connected to the box lid. Anyone know what this hose is for and why I am getting this fluid in my box(its on the intake side of the filter and is sucked right into the intake! The hose goes down past the battery and into a round type mechanism. What is this????
