Inside door handles V70-XC70 2001

Have had my XC for almost 6 months and the inside door handles are a mess. The lever has chipped the plastic fake wood and the black paint has worn off in spots. Does anyone else have this problem? The dealer doesn't know if Volvo has a fix for this.
