850 T5R Wagon Tires: 17" or 16"? 850 1995

We need new tires on our 1995 850 T5R Wagon.

Our family's safety is important. We've been unhappy with 17" Pirelli P Zeros 205/45/17. We've replaced several tires due to bubbles and sidewall problems.

Is our best option to replace the wheels with 16" wheels and put on all season 205/50/16 tires?

Has anyone had experience with the following tires:

Pirelli P8000

Michelin MXV4

Pilot XGTZ4

Dunlop D40

Dunlop Sport W-10

Yokohama A520 TL

Michelin MXM

Should we get new 16" wheels or tick with 17" wheels?
