Hi,
So, after getting the proper size battery (a Duralast Gold with a date of 8/14), the first time we let the 1997 850 GLT sit for 3 days the battery went dead.
When we got the battery, AutoZone said the charging system checked out as working properly, and when AAA jump started us they said the system is charging properly. (Each time the battery has discharged after 3 days, which is 3 times now, the various technicians said the system was working properly.)
When the batteries ran down, they went to ZERO charge.
***Also, each time the battery died it rendered the battery cells unable to hold a new charge.
(That's why last time I asked about changing the battery I wondered about changing the alternator as preventive maintenance.)
I can't figure this out!
So, the trunk light is always off, the mirrors are closed so their lights are off, the headlights are off, and all that.
Is there anything common in the 850s that could cause them to run down like this?
Then, what might cause the 850 to keep killing the batteries, please, so that they can't be recharged?
Thanks!!!
