Change to synthetic oil at 76k alright? 850 94

My car has never had synthetic oil in it. No leaks or problems yet, but I wanted to go to a synth as the car is getting older. SOmeone told me that going to synthetic after 50k miles causes leaks and seal problems. It makes sense, but if there are no problems now, would this be an issue at all? Thanks.
