Hi all,
I had to take off my tensioner and want to use it. It seems sort of lifeless and dead, rather than springy, after dismantling and turning the hex key back etc. I have no idea if it is going to work or not. Is there a way to tell? I seem to remember them being pre-set, or is it my imagination and they are good to go after removing?
PS: I blew my head gasket but the head needs a little straighten and the block is okay - after 40km no coolant in head. But, it is costing me a bit to get my wagon back on road. This tensioner is another small hurdle.
Next Q is about fuel injector. At tip goes into manifold there is a small orange circle. It is flat. Was it once a bulbous seal, or is this a plastic part of the injector? It seems detachable. Mine have cracked and dismantled and are scrap. Hope I don't have to replace the injectors....
