Talkin' about 'summer' tires 850 95

Well, last week we had June weather in April (now it's March weather in

May!), and I put the winter tires/wheels in the basement and put on my

nearly-to-the-wear-bars Michelin 205/50-16 MXMs.

I've since ordered a set of Toyo Proxes T1-S (hey, if they work for Arno

for all this time, they ought to work for me..). They should be on the

car early next week. One place told me I had a choice of load ranges, 87

(= OEM) or 92(!!!?), but Toyo disupted that.

But since then I've learned that the new Bridgestone Pole Position S-03

will be made (and available very soon) in the 205/50-16 size. From what I

read in AutoWeek, these could be the highest tech tires available in this

(or any) size, between their dual-tread-compound design and also

"sharkskin" finish (similar tech to those full-body swim suits that help

swimmers break records) for better hydroplaning resistance. They also

claim to present more equal pressure across the entire contact patch.

The Bridgestones would cost US$100+ more per 4, and I'm not sure I want to

be "the first on my block" to try them, but I'm intrigued by this new entry

in this size.

I'm a bit concerned that the T1-S may not ride harshly enough to drive my

Bilsteins into their low-damping mode as well(?) as the MXMs have, but Toyo

tells me I have 500 miles to try them...

Comments from anyone who's driven the MXMs and T1-S are especially welcome.
