Do you have metallic silver paint? S40-V40 2000

Is it 'cloudy'?

The reason I ask is that my V40's hood is becoming...what looks like...oxidized. But the clear coat is holding up fine. I've spent a bit of time trying to polish and wax this out with 'swirl remover' but nothing has helped so far.

It is fairly obvious when viewed at a low angle in daylight.

I'm not talking about paint chips, this paint is swirled and dull. And it is only in a few patches on the hood (or is that 'bonnet' to you?).

Thanks for any suggestions!
