Issues with factory CD player 850 1996

I bought some tunes from ITunes and burned a CD. The CD worked fine on our Bose CD player and on the CD player in our 2008 S80; but the CD player in our 1996 850 rejects it. This CD player has no trouble playing commercial discs. Is there some security code on discs burned from ITunes that confuses older CD players? Should I just try burning another disc?
