Recently the CEL appeared a couple of times and was traced to the vacuum line slipping off of the EGR valve diaphram spigot. Slip it back on and CEL would go away.
CEL came back after a couple of weeks but the vacuum line was in place. Pulled codes and got a 2-4-1 "EGR system flow malfunction."
Car has 217,000 miles on it and the TB was cleaned about 17,000 miles ago. Best to remove the TB and EGR valve to clean? First I'll confirm that the vacuum solenoid near the fan shroud is working. I think I replaced that about 10 years ago.
