Central Locking 850

I just bought a beautiful 1993 850GLT on ebay. Snagged it for $162.50.
A ridiculous price for this car, bargain of a lifetime, totally straight, leather seats, sunroof, looks very clean under bonnet, oil at top mark, honey coloured so just at the end of the cycle but obviously serviced regularly, paint mostly good apart from failed clearcoat on roof and part of boot lid, sunroof has been siliconed nastily around rubber and inner slider not operational as the lining is all bunched up, the old bloke has Parkinsons and can't drive anymore, so sad, nice old chap.
Drove it home for a 300K trip and enjoyed it a great deal, love the cruise control, motor sings, no odd clunks and bunks, auto behaves perfectly, heater works very well.Seats cumfy but hard so soaking with leather conditioner for as long as it takes.
Just a few things to fix.
1. Odometer. I've asked and found good descriptions of this fix.

2. Central Locking. The key can lock or unlock either front door. Remaining doors must be locked or unlocked manually. This means from inside as the buttons can't be pulled up.
The alarm has been turned off as I think it was misbehaving. I don't need or want an alarm but I wonder if it's connected to the central locking problem.
The glovebox has been mangled and I also wonder if this was done in the same connection, in some misguided attempt to access the keyless remote relay that I think resides behind the glovebox?
Any help to just get a central locking feature working off the key would be most welcome.

3. I'll do the flame trap job and have some very good methods for this saved from Mathews site. The larger diameter hoses seem a very good idea for a car with about 200,000K's.[I need to do the code trick to find true mileage.]Nasty looking job but as oil is misting around dipstick and rear camshaft seal I would think this is a must.
4. I'll do a timing belt and water pump and all that runs in there which again I have found good articles and have done many timing belts so right for that one too.

Cheers,
Dan
