1997 850 R Wagon

My SRS warning light is one (and has been for three or four months). Volvo service said (over the phone) it was "probably a seat belt problem, and would cost around $200 to fix." How probable is this, and if it is connected to the seat in some way, is it something an amateur mechanic (myself) can fix? Service didn't seem to think it was loss of pressure in a cartridge or anything like that. Dick
