Ive had 3 occasions where I'm braking and there is a weird vibration throughout the whole car.
The first time, I was coming to a stop at an intersection. It felt like I was running over some of those warning strips in the road, but I wasn't going at a fast enough speed to create this amount of vibration. The rest of my trip, the vibration was not recreated.
The second time was under similar circumstances. Happened the one time, and not again.
The third time though, was as I was pulling into the driveway at home. I was turning right and going slow (and down hill, to up hill on the driveway).
I THINK in all 3 times, I had the AC on. The 3rd time it happened, I tried to recreate the symptoms, but without the AC on. No vibrations.
The vibration almost feels like when you slide on wet metal/grating. The intensity of the braking doesn't seem to match the speed, so that is why I'm confused.
Also, the vibration isn't in the steering wheel or the brake pads.
I suspect it's the rotors. Maybe the wheel bearings? Maybe the AC/engine mounts?
