intake manifold nipple 850 1997

The upper driver side intake manifold vacuum nipple rusted through on my 97 850 TR. I can't find the part locally, so I JB welded a an inch long piece of nylon tube to the orifice. It looks good, but my question, will this jack-legged repair work? If so for how long? Or do I have to bit the bullet and buy a new part? I am worried that the nylon will melt and cause more problems.
