FEAR NOT! I saw this in my brother's 850 Turbo. What you need to do to disconnect it is this:
1.) Empty the trunk and pull out the "floor" that covers the Spare tire.
2.) remove the small tabs that hold the felt "walls" of the compartment on. (to do this, use a flat-tip screwdriver and turn them 1/4 turn. They should pop right out)
3.) Follow the wire along until you find a small white plastic connector. It houses a fuse. You should be able to twist this to disconnect the wire. Be careful not to lose the fuse.)
Basically, follow the wire behind the felt padding and disconnect it at that plastic junction.
