Your last comment would be directed at me. If you want a K&N filter, go to the K&N webiste, www.knfilters.com. You can call them and they will tell you the closest retail outlet that sells the air filter. I ordered my online throught Macneil Automotive, because they had a filter for the volvo in stock whereas my local retailer lied through his teeth about how K&N had to fabricate one to send to him (yeah right). The kit I ordered came with the oil to use after cleaning. Cleaning itself is very simple. Use water to GENTLY clean the filter form the clean side out to the dirty saide. DO NOT USE A HOSE. You will end up destroying the filter with such force. After that let it air dry in the shade. Oil it (not too much) and then after letting it sit for as little bit, put it back in.

As to the ECU and disconnecting the battery: When I modified my exhuast, the technician, whom I trust because he works on racing vehicles in the San Diego area, asked me if I had disconnected the battery after installin the filter. I said no. He said to disconnect the batteyr and wait for five minutes. His reason was that the ECU still had information on the volum of incoming air based on the old paper filter. Doing this would clear that info and allow the ECU to recalculate based on the new filter and the greater amount of air that was coming in. I followed his advice. No, your odometer doesn't reset. If it did everytime you disconnected the battery, then your state officials would be very upset since odometer tampering is illegal. You are probably thinking of the clock and gas mileage. This resets and recalculates itself.
