Seems I have those same problems when others do. But tell me was the air just hot or was it warm and HUMID? There is a difference. I too had the same problem while driving on the highway in very warm days. The AC kicked out then came back on then finally kicked out for a while. I took it to the authorized dealer. They said, per vovlo headquarters, to disconnect a sensor to the AC. Apparently, there is a sensor that measures pressure. When the pressure gets too much, the AC kicks out. Don't ask me whether this is true, but I do have the work order that does say this.
Anyway, I went to the dealer I bought the car at because he had to fix some carpeting for me. I had mentioned this to his mechanic. His mechanic discovered that the Schraeder valve was leaking and he replaced it. Tell your dealer to look at those two things. If he thinks you're crazy and wants proof, I will fax him the work orders so he can see what was done on my car.
