Re: Any suggestions for bumper paint touch-ups? 850 1995

ICQ>

I had a similar problem with my Volvo ('95 850 red). For very small areas I used the touch-up paint from the dealer. For larger areras however, I had to go to a specialized paint store to get the paint canned. The good part about canned paint is that the store combines the basic paint with the flex agent and with a hardener so the only thing you have worry about is to nicely spray it on the bumper. The trouble is that you have to carefully mask the adjacent areas not to overspray. Also, to get a good (color) transition between the new paint and the old one you should wet-sand (granularity 1500 or 2000 & 1-2 days after the paint job is completed) the areas where you blended the new paint onto the old one. If necessary, clear coat it at the end.

As a final remark, I guesst it's not recommended to use a high speed buf machine on the bumper.
