S60 T6 Turbo Whine (2011) S60

My S60 T6 AWD automatic has 40K on it. There is faint turbo whine at times that seems to be related RPM and changes during gear changes. One specific time is when I start slowing down while coming to a stop, and during the final downshift I hear the turbo whine "spool" down. Is this normal? Does the turbo need to be checked and/or serviced? At what point does a turbo need to be serviced or replaced? Thanks.
