I was having significant pressure in crankcase (glove test) and also blowing blue smoke out the tailpipe after long idle times (lots of traffic here in nyc!) My 850 non-t has over 400K miles, so this was the second time around on the PCV system. The system was not too clogged, and I did the blow test thru the bottom port and it seemed ok. Replaced a number of vacuum hoses, clamps and elbows.
Still have the pressure in the crankcase, but it's way lower then it was. Still also have the blue smoke after long idle times. But the engine is running absolutely fantastic - perfect idle and improved response - best its been in years!
Whats causing the blue smoke and still high pressure? Are the valve seals shot? Anything else to check? I REALLY want to keep this car but need to know if the engine is going bad.
I appreciate any suggestions.
thanks
