Background: We have a 96 850 Turbo with approx. 200K miles we were donated by a friend over the summer for our daughter to drive. We know it needed some work but since it was donated it made sense financially since I would be doing all the work. So far the only engine work done has been, timing belt & pulleys, water pump, spark plugs, oil change. OK, strange thing happen to my daughter this morning when going to school. She said it sounded a little louder than normal when she started it cold to the point she got out of the car to listen and then got back in to drive as she was in a hurry. She said she had very low power, it would hardly accelerate going up a hill in our neighborhood. She said it kept making a loud noise and it took her 10 sec to make a turn (probably exaggerated) while flooring it. She ended up coming back home she was so scared. This is the first really cool ( 48F )morning we have had in Charlotte since we had the car so this may be related. When I get home I will check for holes in the intercooler hoses, is there anything else I should check that might become more of a problem when the weather is cool?
