Hi all, I went to start the volvo yesterday and though it cranks, it won't start (not even a putt-putt). Eventually the immobilizer kicks in. The day before it was fine with no issues at all. Things I tried so far:
1- fuel pump fuse good
2- checked the shrader valve by the injectors and no gas came out.
3- fuel pump relay (I tried slowly pulling in and out of socket and it clicks repeatedly while ignition is on. With it pulled out I tested and have voltage across both relay's circuits (a little less than 12 volts though)
For normal operation, should I be getting voltage from both circuits through the relay? I heard some fuel pump relays on other cars do the opposite- they open the circuit?
I'm wondering if it's a sensor/ECU issue? I only mention this because I have in the past had intermittent p0014 camshaft sensor issues but not for quite sometime. The me7 Motronic; does it require this sensor to allow the pump to work or would that instead be the CRANK shaft sensor?
I'm seriously hoping it's just not my pump, as I hear it's not cheap to replace and find it a little odd that there were no noticeable warning signs like loss of power etc.
If anyone has any suggestion of things I can look for before I get it towed to my mechanic.
Thanks.
