I think my 2005 Volvo V70 AWD 2.5 has Lucas electrics......

Hello,

I have a just over 230,000 on this vehicle and here is the problem.

The last couple of weeks, I can drive it for 3 to 4 hours without a problem. Then when I shut it off and go to restart it 5 or 10 minutes later, the "Service Transmission" light comes on. If I let it cool down and rest for 20 to 30 minutes it starts up fine and runs great.

The next couple of runs almost the same thing, however, two warnings came on,
"Service transmission" and "Service Engine". Then the warning lights disappeared and everything back to normal.

Then last week the warning messages came back on, including brake failure, tach stopped working, temp gauge stopped working. Let it sit for a bit and everything is fine .

Took it into to get the codes checked and "communication error, unable to read codes". Now for the last three days the car has been running like a well tuned race car, no problems, starts right up goes and goes..

Anyone have any hints???

I owned a Triumph Spitfire, so I am kinda of use to it, but the wife, not so much....

Thanks
