Hello All,
I've been experiencing intermittent coolant loss. I understand we thought it was coming out of the reservoir hose below the reservoir, but I found twice this week the relief valve in the reservoir has been gushing like a geyser. I initially had mostly distilled water, coolant and water wetter. I filled it up with a proper 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water. After short drive home from work, I once again found the relief valve shooting out water, only this time the reservoir was boiling over. Check the coolant level again this morning everything was fine. I drove to work, parked and 10 minutes later there was a puddle under the extreme right hand side of the passenger side. There seem to be traces of motor oil. I guess it's safe to say that I'm looking at the beginning of a blown head gasket? any tips inside tricks would be appreciated, I've never done a head gasket on a modern Volvo before.
Cheers,
gd
