Greetings, all: the "Skid Plate/Air Guide" on my '98 V70 Base took leave after being run up on a higher-than-usual curb. I had to cut one of the hangers to completely remove the item, and my question is: is this item integral to the well-being of the brute, or can I safely forget about it, and never again remind my wife about straight-in parking safe practices? I'm curious about the protection factor, as well as the "Air-Guide" element here. I've seen replacement prices in the $130 range - what say you out there? I'm even considering a repair to the brackets, but I'd not like the thing to come loose again and possibly do more damage than it's worth.
