2008 v70 - center console controls died V70-XC70

Hi all!
I recently adopted a 2008 v70 3.2 w/ 126,000 miles.
Just today, the center console controls stopped working - no radio controls (it is on & playing), can't turn ac/fan on or set temp, and no car-specific settings can be accessed.
The wheel-mounted radio controls & the buttons on the cd player work. All other things in the car seem operational (cruise, lights, sunroof) & all fuses in all three boxes test good. 12v sockets in the console are working.
Any suggestions very much appreciated!
