I have a 1996 850 Turbo wagon with 133,000 mi on it - it runs very well but it just started blowing smoke after the turbo was "boosting" and it returns to vacuum intake. While in non-boost operation there is no smoke and while the turbo charger is engaged there is no smoke. Interesting that it is also dripping oil under the radiator from a turbo vent hose?? I think. I believe the turbo is now leaking oil into the exhaust since the car runs smoothly with lots of power. Can the turbo be repaired? if not, does anyone know where I can get a good deal on a new turbo? I will try to change it myself (fairly experienced shade tree).
