Tire Wear 850 1996

The outer and inner 1.5-inches of my right rear tire are wearing fairly rapidly. The middle shows no wear. This is the sort of pattern that can result from under-inflated tires but I watch tire pressure carefully. It is not the type of wear that I associate with alignment. Could it result from worn bushings? Car has 80K miles. Tires have 400 tread wear rating and I was hoping to get 60K miles on the set. Fronts look like they will make it.

One other piece of information. I last rotated tires about 10K miles ago. No problem then.
