2001: 4wd system bugs? V70-XC70

My mom's thinking about buying a 2001 xc with only 6000 mi. Question: did Volvo get the 4wd system ironed out by this model year? I'm an 850 guy and only heard things here and there about different wheel sizes (tire wear) causing havoc with the transfer case and that they were moving from one type to another. Any other concerns? (Yes I looked thru archives). Thanks in advance!
