2000 S70 AWD with 'clunking' sound in rear axle S70

Louf "clunking" sound occurs in rear when braking (or gas pedal is released) at 60 MPH. This de-acceleration causes a loud "clunk" just as the rev number goes up (i.e. downshifted?). Occurs at least once a day but not everytime it slows down - nearly always right around 60 MPH. Wanted some opinions before seeing dealership. Also anyone know a good service center near Denver?
