I am curious. I bought a used 1995 850 Turbo last December and it had a little problem with the front brakes, which seemed to be a slightly warped rotor. Well the problem got progressively worse, so I took it to the Volvo dealer for a look-see. I had some records from the previous owner and he had a brake shop turn the front rotors about 14,000 miles ago. When I told the service writer this at the Volvo dealer he immediately told me this was a problem. According to him, he said Volvo rotors are too thin to be turned. He said any turning at all takes them down to a point that increases warping. Well anyway, I had them go ahead and do a front brake job, including replacing both of the rotors. It really feels great now, so no complaints there. It's just that I thought all rotors are capable of being turned somewhat, but not according to the Volvo service writer. Has anyone here heard of this?
