Just picked up a '94 850, great shape with 115000km.

I need someone to comment on the instrument panel thermostat. The thermostat needle tends to be around the 1/2 mark when idling and parked for more than 2 min (i.e. normal operating temp) but drops to about the 1/4 mark when driving over 60kph. I have never seen a thermo needle waiver so much in any vehicle and was wondering if this is normal for the 850. A slightly cooler engine while driving makes sense with increased air flow, but for the needle to drop 1/4 seems a bit much to me.

Any comments? Anyone seen this before?
