Power of 960 i-6 compared to 850 i-5 850

Hey,

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but I am just trying to find out why. Is an 960's i-6 engine more powerful than a N/A 850's i-5? Just from my perception, I would say the 850 is more powerful, and everyone says 960's are slow; but why? If you have any insight to this, let me know.
