Stereo Head Unit for 1998 s70 S70

Hello,

Can someone please tell me if the top right hand side of the stereo unit should illuminate?
The scan, seek, and a few more buttons in that area do not light up. Is this correct?

Also, the rear passenger doors do not have any speakers installed. Can after market speakers be easily placed? Meaning, no wires to pass and no additional hardware required.
Has anyone done this?
