Coolant Low... S70

Howdy,
Gonna be working on the car this friday and i noticed the coolant is approaching the Min. level... My question is i have looked at the archives and am unclear on the Dex or Prestone coolant... What should I use? Do i just fill it back up to max and dilute it 50/50 with water or is there another method? Should i flush the old coolant? Sorry for all the questions - just want to do it right.
