Is it common for a 94 850 non-turbo to develop an oil leak after 70K miles? It is not too serious at this point only about a quart every 3k miles. At first I thought it was burning the oil as there are no oil drip stains in my driveway. But, when I change my oil there is the presence of oil on the frame and around the steering rack. I tried to find the source of the leak but I can only narrow it down to around where right side half shaft comes out of the engine/trans. The top half of the engine is very clean. I suspect the oil leaks while the car is in motion. Does anyone know if this is common and what it is? I read another post about a rear main seal, but that seem rather extreme for 70K miles and would taint the reputation of the Volvo Brick! I am hopeful it is something quick and easy to fix.
