Flame Trap 850 1993

I just did my first flame trap replacement since I've had my '93 after 50,000 miles by me (I bought it with 125k miles).

It was glogged with gunk and the throtle intake was covered with much oil residue. I cleaned things all up, but just wondering what sort of damage this might have caused? Is there anything bad I should look for? Any advice out there?
