Tried Mobil 1 for one year, back to Canadian Tire 'Formula 1'

FWIW,
I had been using Canadian Tire synthetic 10W30 in both my 240 and 850 since 1996 when synthetic oils were becoming popular. The 240 has never used anything else since. However last year I decided to use Mobil 1, considered by many to be "THE" oil of choice, in the 850. Immediatly after the first oil change, the lifters became more noisy with the infamous "ticking" sound on cold start-up. Well, after a year of Mobil 1, I decided to go back to Canadian Tire house brand "Formula 1" synthetic 10W30. My lifters are significantly quieter, if not completly silent most days. Go figure. Now if I could just find out who makes Forumla 1, anybody know?
