Best Tires for 850? 850 1996

It's time to pull my snow tires off and I need new regular tires. I've got the lower profile wheels (16"?) and alloy rims.
What are good high performance tires to go with?

I've had trouble with hydroplaning with the old tires. Might this be due to the old tires needing replaced, or is this a problem at high speeds with the 850? (I don't have a spoiler, or want one) I'd really like some tires that will grip the road in wet weather but not deafen me with road noise.

All input appreciated.
