One more Synthetic oil question please. 850 1997

I have heard that Amsoil is beter than Mobile 1, and BMW 5w-30 is better that either of them.
But.....

How much better in reality? Is it 10% 15% better? There is a significant differential in price, and.. I will change any oil by 5k miles, no matter what it is.
The BMW oil is about 3.35 a quart at the dealer, The Amsoil is higher than the Mobile 1. Which do I use, remembering that I will change by 5k miles?
