Question about replacing fuel filter 95 850 base 850

Hi, all,

Just love this board.

Here is the problem. I am thinking to replace the fuel filter on my 95 850(81k miles on the clock) and found the instructions on Bay 13. But on Bay 13, it doesn't mention anything about emptying the gas in the tank. I remember I read somewhere that one needs to let engine run til dead to relieve fuel pressure. I appreciate someone could point me the preparation steps before I could follow the instructions posted on Bay 13. Thanks in advance.
