Hello all, I have a 96 805 turbo with almost 70K on it. I put lovely Dunlop low profile tires on and have been very happy. Ok, last fall I think it was, I was driving the car in the horse arena, and got a staple in the sidewall of the new tire, and I had to get a new tire.
OK, now fastforward to yesterday. I go to rotate, balance and get the car aligned. Turns out some moron at Sears put the wrong sized tire on the car. I am running 205 55XR 16 89W on the car (Or so I thought*G*), but the one was/is 225 55ZR16 94W. I am pretty sure that bigger tire was on the rear, but will make sure when I call tomorrow. The problem is, it's now on the RR, but if that's the case, and they rotated it, I suppose it could have been on the left front then.....What worries me in this scenario is the potential damage done to the car, and do you think I could make them pay for it?
What conceivably could it have done to the car, and should I take it to the mechanic to be checked out???I am not going to drive it until the new tire comes in (I will call and tell them they WILL be fedexing it because we need to drive the car to Seattle in a few days.).....Am I worrying too much, or what? I am just so annoyed that they did such a moronic thing, it's just not something I ever would have thought to check quite frankly. One would assume they had had the smarts to look at the other tires and get the 4th to match it (duh)....
Thanks so much for you input.
