Terrible S70 AM Radio Reception S70 1999

My wife and I both drive 99 Volvos, aa Cross Country and an S70. The Cross Country gets decent AM radio reception, while the S70's reception is awful. It sounds like spark plug induced static when coming up to and pulling away from a stop, or just bad reception when driving around the area.

I realize the two have different antennas, with the S70's being an external antenna. Has anyone had a similar troubles and found a fix?
