upgrading the tires size on my S70

Hello out there.....

I have a 1998 S70 T5 with factory 205/55/16 size tires on it. Well, the time has come to replace my currently worn out tires. I was thinking about putting on some 225/50/16 size tires. I am not sure if this will give me better handling and appearance, or just make my car look stupid and give me a harder ride? Is there anyone out there running these size tires?
