Air Conditioner Recharge 850 1995

Can someone help me with the recharging of my air conditioner? I was told that it was super easy so I bought a recharge kit and a can of R134. The kit has good directions, except that I don't know where the low side service port of the air conditioner is to connect the kit to. I know where the air unit is - but can't seem to find any port - hi or low! Also, why have I read mention of ZAG oil in connection with recharging? What does oil have to do with the air conditioner and R134?
