switching between celsius and farenheit 850 1996

After changing my battery, my outside thermometer has reset to reading in celsius (and my clock reset to 24 hours, instead of 12). Can I change these to U.S. measures myself (turn the ignition on and off 7 times, click my heels, and say "there's no place like Gøteborg", or something like that) or do I have to have a technician use a black box on it?
